How cool!
I'm vaguely familiar with light pollution from reading articles in the local paper about Palomar Observatory. The area was growing rapidly and the increased night lighting was beginning to effect the observatory.
Near the coast here we have a lights out along the beach during turtle hatching season.
A couple of years ago firefighters were catching baby turtles on A1A in buckets and hauling them back to the water.
They had to clmb up a 10' dune and about half a block to get to the highway!
Tenacious little critters!
