Christianity

Many people become Christians and don't really know what that means.

Many are myopic and think their sins are forgiven and that's all that matters - almost like a 'get out of jail free' card - free to sin!

Many think it's their ordination into being Judge!

Many miss the obvious - including me - Our purpose is to heal a broken world.

In many ways the Buddhists get this right - they stand - unfortunately it's against self-deserving 'karma' - but at least they stand - they don't turn away from pain and they don't judge.

Ephesians 6:11 - 18:
Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

All that being said, look around you. Look at those right by your side. How was their life? My guess is they've been hurt in more ways than you can imagine. What can you do to bind their wounds? It takes some thought. You have to dig deep and you have to really separate your desires and hurt from them, because if they are close to you, you've probably been hurt by them. They are the people you must start with. They may even be the people you have hurt.

Note: All that being said, this doesn't apply to grand schemes - it only works with those directly around you. When it comes to politics on a national level, we must be united against evil systems and risk even life and limb to ensure our peaceful ideology. Communism and Islam have proved repeatedly that their 'systems' do not work.

Amen, Eyes! So true, our job is to be salt and light and to take the healing message out to a hurting world.
And I put on the full armor of G*D every morning before I get out of bed. That's how I survive it!
Good morning, G*D bless and Maranatha!

And that picture emphasises that!

The New Testament makes it clear that salvation is by grace, a gift--and not something we earn by good works. The law serves as a mirror to let us see just how sinful we are and just how desperately we need salvation.

But the New Testament also states that faith without works is dead.

Being a Christian means acting upon that ocnviction. Any other way is lukewarm.

:>D It's easier said than done, that's for sure! But I know when you scratch the surface of most lives you find an awful lot of hurt...

Being there and listening opens that wounded heart to the Lord's Healing. Too few take the time to listen...

That's for sure! Why do we so like hearing ourselves talk so much?

Ego, pride, too much self-love and not enough other love...

Really listening means reacting to the other person, not our thoughts, in fact, shut off the self-talk and pay attention to the heart cries!
