Liviu Librescu

There's an excellent post at AOW, so I won't repeat the details here. He was a great hero all his life, repeatedly, in the face of all evil. I hate it when Christians say "If you don't believe in Jesus as Savior you will go to hell!" Isn't that judgemental? We're not the judge, and I don't believe Liviu went to hell. I am a Christian, but I don't think that gives me a right to judge others, only to plant seeds. For example, when Jesus said (John 14:6)"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." I believe that is an accurate statement. The question is, would you like Jesus to be your advocate, and say "She is mine" or would you like to depend on your own righteous acts? The point is God is the judge. You can 'go to court' with or without a lawyer, however, 'A lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client'.

It may sound contradictory to some, Eyes, but as a Christian I don't believe this great man will go to hell either. "Judge not, lest ye be judged" also works for me, at least most of the time. I cannot pretend to not judge the psychopath who committed this indecency, nor can I pretend not to be judgmental of Americans who are against their own country. But we both know who the only judge who counts is, don't we?

I saw AOW's post on this man, and it was excellent too. :)

Hi Gayle, Yes, I think there's something here. Look at the Jihadists who presume to judge and execute... We can't lobotomize ourselves and pretend there isn't good and bad, but when it comes to theology, it's up to God.

this in on his funeral - quite touching.

Thanks Nanc, I can't read it.... It's too painful. He was a Saint.... How can people not believe in God when you see Cho vs Liv? I don't get it. The 'good' and the 'bad' so clearly defined by their lives...

What you said, Eyes... I choked up when I hears some of the funeral's details.

Thanks Brooke, He was a great hero in my eyes... If he didn't go to heaven, then I don't want to be there,,,, pure and simple...

the bible states that ALL israel will be saved. that would be
G-dfearing jews - i believe that. that is what israel means to the Lord.

the self-loathing, secular jews will suffer the same fate as any other self-loathing, secular type.

if you fear G-d, you are in a sense a jew also, through our adoption into His family through Christ. we are israel.

tmw could expound on this much more clearly than i - i'm a little puddled up after reading it also, but it is a wonderful tribute, especially the words from his son and wife.

The world is a poorer place this week, every true hero brings G*D's Light closer, every lose lights the way toward something better. Though we would be happier to have them carry their own torches, may we pick up their's and carry it on to light the way for our children. Do not forget to tell your children often of this man, may it inspire our children to reach higher, stretch further and climb higher...

This man was a hero--in every way that counts. I'll leave it to my God to make all determinations about eternity.

May we remember the fine example set by this hero on Monday.

Nanc, well said!! You and your twin (tmw) both understand. I guess that why real Christians love Israel and the Jews. We have the same Father.

AOW, your post was excellent. He was an amazing hero. Strange that 'Ismail' and he meet. The best and the worst this world has to offer...
