Stem cells from amniotic cells...

Just in case you missed this news bite, it looks like stem cells from amniotic fluid might be better than embryonic stem cells afterall:

"In addition, for reasons that are still poorly understood, the amniotic cells do not seem to form the tumors known as teratomas that sometimes arise from embryonic stem cells implanted in animals."

Read entire story here. Yep, I think I'll take a pass on the whole tumors bit if you don't mind.

I heard that about the stem cells from amniotic fluid, Eyes. So... it appears there is no need for embryonic stem-cells to be used. Will that stop those who think using embryonic stem-cells is okay? I really doubt it.

Happy Easter to you and yours, Eyes! :)

I believe you're right Gayle... I guess tumors don't bother them so much. I'll opt for the tumor free version:>D

I doubt this will influence the embryonic researchers. They have too much time and effort invested in killing babies and destroying human life to seek a more "moral" alternative at this point. For doing so would be require an admission on their behalf that they had been doing something "wrong". And to these nihilists, there are no "wrongs".

Hopefully they'll give us a choice when it comes time for the tumor version or the tumor-free version. Tumors are so creepy...
